Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026 · HB Technologies LLC

This Cookie Policy explains how HB Technologies LLCuses cookies and similar technologies on friendswith.ai (the “Service”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize you across pages and visits. We also use related technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — that work the same way for the purposes of this Policy.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function (authentication, session continuity, load balancing, fraud prevention, CSRF protection). These cannot be disabled and do not require consent.
  • Functional.Remember your preferences (language, theme, mature-content acknowledgment) so you don’t have to re-enter them every visit.
  • Analytics.Help us understand how the Service is used in aggregate (e.g., page views, feature adoption, error rates) so we can improve it. We use a single first-party analytics provider configured to anonymize IPs and respect “Do Not Track”.
  • Advertising. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the Service. If this changes we will update this Policy and request consent where required.

3. First-party vs third-party

Most cookies on the Service are first-party (set by friendswith.ai). A few are third-party, set by service providers we’ve hired:

  • Google — for sign-in (NextAuth) and to authenticate sessions;
  • Stripe — for payment processing on subscription pages;
  • PostHog — for product analytics, in self-hosted mode where applicable.

4. How long do they last?

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set duration — typically between seven days and one year — depending on their purpose. You can clear all cookies from your browser at any time.

5. Manage your preferences

  • In-app. A cookie-preferences panel is available from the footer (rolling out in stages). You can opt out of analytics cookies there at any time.
  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core functionality.
  • “Do Not Track” / Global Privacy Control. When your browser sends GPC, we honor it as an opt-out of analytics and any future advertising cookies.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove technologies. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted in the Service.
